Me and Isak spent several hours pre-programming the show in GrandMA’s 3D environment a week prior to the show. We timecoded all of the medlys in cuestacks to run with the backingtracks and had some manually triggered cuestacks in between. All the cuestacks were programmed with presets, which we updated on set once everything was built. The rig had been meticulously planned by Ishai Mika down do the number of 5m extension cords which allowed us to build the set in just a few hours. With a 10 000 seat venue you really need to think completely different compared to a smaller size venue. Everything you do needs to be on purpose and needs to be extended to reach all the way to the back. I used the k20 LED wash for the first time and I have to say that they’re quite extraordinary. Placing them in the middle of the stage was a great move as it helped to tell the story that was unfolding very close to where it was happening. We used the P5 strobe lights for hits and syncopated beats in the music which brought the stage alive in time with the music. All in all, it was a very successful execution of the show.
